Integrity Unit

The establishment of the Integrity Unit is in line with the Government's decision to establish an Integrity Unit in all public agencies enforced through Service Circular Number 6 of 2013 from 1 August 2013 and continuing with the implementation of Resolution SP.1.2.1 until now. The Integrity Unit of the Kluang Municipal Council was established and began operating on 1 January 2018 based on the Decision of the Full Meeting No. 12/2017 on 28 December 2017.

The Integrity Unit of the Kluang Municipal Council (MPK) has several main tasks, including monitoring and ensuring good governance, preventing misconduct, and promoting a culture of integrity among MPK employees. In addition, they also provide a complaint channel for the public to report any integrity-related issues.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Complaint Management and Detection & Verification
  • Manage the receipt of information/complaints regarding criminal misconduct, abuse of power, malpractice and violations of the agency's code of conduct and ethics to ensure that action is taken on each information/complaint.
  • Detect and verify complaints of criminal misconduct, violations of the organization's code of conduct and ethics received and ensure appropriate follow-up action is taken.
  • Integrity Strengthening
  • Implementation of integrity strengthening programs to ensure the culture, institutionalization and implementation of integrity in the agency.
  1. Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure that the best governance is implemented while addressing integrity issues, especially related to corrupt behavior, malpractice and abuse of power in the agency.
  • Monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to ensure that there is no room and opportunity for officers and staff to commit crimes or violations of the code of conduct and ethics.
  1. Disciplinary
  • Perform the secretarial functions of the Disciplinary Board based on the Johor Local Authority Officers (Conduct and Discipline) General Orders 1988 and disciplinary management work
